Do you happen to know if the Bordeaux online store delivers to the US?

Yes it does. :) Shipping fees are pretty hefty, but the products arrive safely and super-super-quickly.

What does it mean about Yoann having a 25 mill buyout clause?
Anonymous

Are you the same person who asked sempre-yoann this question?

Gourcuff’s buy-out clause expired on the 31st July. This means Bordeaux has control over what value he goes for now.

Can you tell me more about Paul Lasne? Is he still playing for Bordeaux or is he already on loan? I never get to see him play anymore, other than a few friendlies.

Well it was said about two/three weeks ago that he was due to be loaned, but he hasn’t yet. Hopefully (for his playing sake, I mean he’s been left out of all the squads thus far) this loan will be sorted. He has too many players to overcome in his position (Diarra/Fernando/Ducasse). Although, the midfield is in some doubt right now, so perhaps holding on to him may prove of some use, if the midfield depletes…either way, he’s still only 21.

This is how you do replies?

This match was quite the rollercoaster, that’s for sure. Props to Carrasso and PSG’s inability to finish some of their frightening breaks.

Hahaha Marion, I laughed when I read this. I miss us speaking franglais! I’ve yet to read fans’ reactions (French ones), should be fun…

femmegirondin said: but you’re the team expert!

I’ll sleep on Gourcuffgate, I mean who knows what’ll happen within 24hrs from now. I also have um, a complex relationship with this fellow. (also, ‘team expert’, haha thanks. :P)

Some discussions on the matter via these rebloggings by myplayers and midnitesunlite.

femmegirondin said: trololololol I mean if you love the team you love the team and it’s not just Yoann but I mean come ~on~. I miss Planus. =(

Bordeaux =/= Yoann Gourcuff. I know I have followers who only follow me for The Gourcuff, it would be ignorant to overlook that. Either way, even if they came here with no knowledge of Bordeaux whatsoever, I hope I’ve provided some education. :) and hey, perhaps recruited some new supporters. Shame tumblr doesn’t have a poll option, I would so do one on player popularity/demand. ;)

What is Benoît Trémoulinas ethnicity?
Anonymous

Trémoulinas’ heritage is of the Réunion (island), an overseas department of France in the Indian Ocean. As for exact ethnicity, I’m not certain. Most probably of the ‘Malbar’ group, a group of Réunionnais with origins stemming from India.

(can you tell I’m a geography student?)

oh also, i'm curious as to your opinion on Jean Tigana vs. Laurent Blanc.

Let’s start with Blanc. Obviously, nobody can question what he did for this club. The statistics and honours say it all. He knew how to bring out the best in players, I mean, hell, David Bellion was being dubbed a ‘sniper’ rather frequently in 07/08, Wendel came into his own, made Diarra an indispensable figure. He was organised, no bullshit attitude, and Bordeaux could actually play quite attractive, offensive football. Unbelievable progression from Ricardo Gomes’ time. Sure, he left us in a state, but there were many factors do to with that ‘black hole’ ‘downward spiral’, etc, so let’s not get into that.

Jean Tigana. I’m digging up some things I said about him around his appointment: “I would love Tigana. He has credentials, plus his general persona could be just the breath of fresh air needed.” “It was always going to be him. and I’m so glad it’s him. I’m excited.” My opinion has not changed, seeing as the season has just begun. It may have been a long time ago and I was very young, but I was a fan of his when he was at Fulham. Unfortunately I was extremely busy during pre-season, so I’ve only had one match to judge on as Girondins manager. (though, the pre-season results were pretty encouraging!) Montpellier - he has the right ideas, he’s trying to make us an offensive force once again, in contrast to the lethargic end of last season. What I did see was a lack of organisation in the attacking department. (I can forgive the defensive shambles due to the injuries and suspensions.) At one point, too many forwards were on the pitch! But hopefully this will be resolved as the season progresses, and once we know which personnel are up the task! I do not blame Tigana entirely for our failures to score, or even create chances against Montpellier. It is the players as well. Gouffran is not living up to his initial promise, Bellion cannot give us what we need (understatement!). I am still fairly optimistic about Cavenaghi for this season, let’s hope his performance against Montpellier was firmly an off-day. God, I miss Chamakh. Savić was a good signing I believe, and hopefully the defence will be back to full strength soon. Early days! Give it a few more matches.

I could’ve made this way longer, but I’ll save tumblr from my rambles, unless I get more demand. :P I hope this was the sort of opinion you were asking for, nonetheless. :)

do you have a download for the match today? or do you know where I could watch it?
Anonymous

I do not, sorry.

GirondinswebTV always puts up all the matches in full, but you have to subscribe for a fee. I can try and ask my friends who know a lot about match downloading, but I can’t make any promises!

The only ‘highlights’ currently on the web is a clip of the Montpellier goal. However if I come across extended highlights, I will update this answer!

heyy you probably get this a lot (sorry! lol) but where can i watch bordeaux games online?

You are right in saying that I get this a lot!

Please refer to this post. :)

Does Yoann Gourcuff speak English?
Anonymous

As far as I know, no. But it wouldn’t surprise me if he knew a few phrases, etc. as after all, he is a footballer who likes his books! Plus he has been on the international stage.

He can speak Italian.

Hi there!

First of all, thanks so much for making such a lovely blog! The Bordeaux boys are so adorable (bromance much!?). Second of all, I need to ask a HUGE favour of you. I am from North America (Canada) and I've been trying REALLY hard to find an online blog/site for me to watch Ligue 1 matches (especially Bordeaux's matches) but it's like mission impossible. Can you link me to some reliable sources to watch the matches? THANKS SO MUCH!

1) Thank you, pleasure. :)

2) I’ve been asked this question before, I posted some useful links in this post.

Hope it helps!

do you know how I can watch all the Girondin matches from the United States? i've been looking everywhere since i moved here from Bordeaux in april and i can't find any channels that carry them or any way to watch them on the internet. I'm desperate! i miss my team!

Hi,

You can stream matches live on sites such as rojadirecta, iraqgoals, atdhe.

Alternatively, if you can’t catch the matches live because of your timezone; I’m sure you know of GirondinswebTV, where you can see every match in full after it has been played - providing you subscribe for a fee.

Hope the links help. :)
