Hello everyone, according to fybdx’s homepage, this tumblr has not been updated for five months. Unfortunately due to starting a new life (aka university), I have not been able to follow Ligue 1 in great a depth as I would like, let alone keep up a blog.

HOWEVER I aim to change this, as I do miss being engrossed in French football. Now, to pose the question of the season: Does Bordeaux need a new coach? Signs point to yes. I have had many disagreements with Tigana (in my head, bien sûr) and our current standing of 10th leads me to believe ‘yes’. I welcomed turning over a new leaf after Bordeaux’s downward spiral at the end of the 2009/10 season, however this chapter (terribly written, at that) has to be closed. Even without the likes of Gourcuff and Chamakh, the squad had great potential. Now it is just a mediocre bunch. Yes, Bordeaux used to be a mid-table club. Yes, Ligue 1 standings are erratic (bar consistencies of Lyon, Marseille, PSG). But this does not mean that Girondins de Bordeaux can fall from grace. Just like that. The players have failed to respond to Tigana - even Pavon had enough - and so the club must search for someone more inspirational; also someone who makes fewer dubious decisions… But this is easier said than done.

It’s nice to see that this tumblr has only lost 13 followers during the unplanned hiatus; was expecting a greater loss! As always, feel free to pop a message - especially if you would like to share an opinion on the above question. Unrelated note: I went to Paris at the beginning of the month and met a French football journalist who you may know of: @tomwfootball / Football Further whilst watching the Champions League in a bar. I was genuinely shocked when I realised who he was. Small world! If you do not follow him/read his articles already then I suggest you should as Ligue 1 followers. Great writer and a really nice guy!

Updates nowadays still going slow…still busy. I’m moving to university on Sunday so I probably won’t catch Caen - Bordeaux (and probably the next few L1 matches after that) on Saturday. We will see!

Hello, sorry for the complete lack of updates. I actually came back from Spain two weeks ago now, but have been terribly busy since.

Here is a photo of Cavé which I took watching Mallorca - Real Madrid in a Spanish sports bar, haha. :)

So when I went to Croatia, I posted a photo of Sertić. When I added Bordeaux + Spain in my mind, Albert Riera (cue any Liverpool followers rolling their eyes) automatically came out.

So yeah, I’m off again, to Spain this time. I shall be missing:

29th: Bordeaux - Marseille. (21:00 CET)

3rd: Bordeaux - Osasuna. (18:30 CET) A friendly during the lil’ Ligue 1/La Liga break (internationals). It being broadcast in Spain is slightly wishful thinking.

I look forward to hearing stories of this refurbished team, kicking some l’OM…

This match was quite the rollercoaster, that’s for sure. Props to Carrasso and PSG’s inability to finish some of their frightening breaks.

Bordeaux =/= Yoann Gourcuff. I know I have followers who only follow me for The Gourcuff, it would be ignorant to overlook that. Either way, even if they came here with no knowledge of Bordeaux whatsoever, I hope I’ve provided some education. :) and hey, perhaps recruited some new supporters. Shame tumblr doesn’t have a poll option, I would so do one on player popularity/demand. ;)

Blanc would like to know how to reply to your replies.

I’ve seen it done, like a post would say ‘XYZ replied’ and then the original poster has their reply to that reply.

I hope that makes sense? Or is there not a reply-to-reply function, people just do the html themselves? If anyone could tell me, it would be much appreciated. :)

I am off to the land of Sertić’s parentage (aka Croatia) for a week, there will probably be no updates until the 25th. If there are, they will most likely be a load of reblogs!
